Method:
- Prepare the Ingredients
- In a pressure cooker or deep pan, heat 1 tablespoon of ghee on medium heat.
- Add 1 cup of broken wheat to the ghee and roast it on low heat. Stir continuously until the wheat turns golden brown and emits a nutty aroma.
- Make Jaggery Water
- In a separate pan, bring 2.5 cups of water to a boil.
- Add 1 cup of jaggery and stir until it dissolves completely. Turn off the heat and set the jaggery water aside.
- Cook the Lapsi
- Carefully pour the jaggery water into the roasted wheat, stirring well.
- Cover the pressure cooker and cook for 3-4 whistles on medium heat.
- If using a pan, cover and cook on low heat until the wheat softens, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Add Flavour and Garnish
- Once the pressure cooker releases naturally, open it and stir in cardamom powder, sliced almonds, cashews, and grated coconut. Mix thoroughly to ensure the flavours are evenly distributed.
- Serve
- Transfer the Lapsi to a serving bowl.
- Garnish with rose petals for a fragrant and visually appealing touch.
